When faced with last seasons Champion, a lot of people never thought Hogwarts Of Wizardry would stand a chance. But whether it was tactics, skills or pure magic that tipped the scales, Croton Capitatus is our new Champion! And what a fantastic final! They really showed Spurred On how to play football in the quarter final, with a staggering 6-2 win. Then Royals were defeated in the semi final, after being behind, and scoring the decider in the 81st minute! In the final, against Tore Puppers Ringnesklanen (last seasons Champions), Hogwarts were behind twice, but managed to come back! After 13 minutes, Hogwarts scored the first goal. "A shot by Harry Potter and it seems to be on target!!! He scores!!!" But as is often the case, retaliation followed just seconds later: "Excellent pass by Jens Minde to Rune Hvattum! A shot by Rune Hvattum and it seems to be on target!!! And it's in!" Then Ringnesklanen brought the game around: "The free-kick looks good, and is received by Robbie Dickens... A shot by Robbie Dickens and it seems to be on target!!! He scores!!!" Luckily for the morale of Hogwarts, they got the equalizer just seconds before the referre blew the half-time whistle: "Excellent pass by Hermione Granger to Luna Lovegood! A shot by Luna Lovegood and it seems to be on target!!! Just out of the keepers range, what a fantastic goal!" I must say, I don't quite like the visualization of Hermione and Luna out there on the pitch, and I can promise them a bit of Hard Tackling if I ever get the chance Just 5 minutes after the break, Ringnesklanen gets back into the lead, before Harry Potter manages to score another equalizer in the 66th minute. So after 3-3 at full time, players were beginning to show the strain as the extra time started. After 3 minutes, after a few magnificent passes, Hogwarts Of Wizardry scored a great goal. And from this point on, the scales tipped in their favor. Their last goal came after a fantastic long-distance shot in the 113th minute, when Neville Longbottom decided enough was enough. That said though, the drama kept on going, as Sybill Trelawney gets his second yellow for the evening, forcing Hogwarts to play the last minutes with just 10 players. And to make things interesting, in the resulting free-kick after the red card, Ringnesklanen scores an amazing goal from 28 meters! Truly, a remarkable final, and a worthy winner. Congratulations, Hogwarts of Wizardry, managed by Croton Capitatus, our new Champion! |
